Training Course Overview
In the gas turbine course, the basic operation of the major sections of a typical gas turbine is reviewed. Different machines are displayed to show the same basic principle. In the first chapter, we discuss a basic simple cycle arrangement, the Brayton cycle, and the advantages a combined cycle setup brings to increase efficiency. The air path chapter reviews a typical compressor and its design, including bleed ports, surge, and air supplies to other systems. The hot gas path course covers fuel addition, combustion, and the components of the system. In the next module, turbine section, the design and operation of a typical power turbine is covered. The last chapter reviews the necessary auxiliary systems required for proper operation of the gas turbine.
